See their grubby noses? They love to root about outside even in this chilly weather.

Ginger, the Tamworth gilt is their mother, she was named by visitors on Open Farm Sunday last year and this is her first litter of piglets. It was also the first litter to be born to our Large White boar who arrived from Cornwall in July. The boar's name is Jack Flash.

There will be trailer rides on offer from the farm down the hill to see the rare breed outdoor pigs. If the weather continues to be wet and the ground is slippery then another route will be taken.

Whiler he is preparing himself, Ruby the sow, is a pig-in-waiting... we are sure she will have the piglets before Sunday, but it is becoming a very close run thing and she is getting so very large.

Last year Marmalade, the Tamworth, farrowed on the Wednesday before and Ruby at 11pm on the Friday night, so for us this is a touch of deja vue! Will post as soon as we have news.
