Cutting edge - 21st Century precision farming

A working weekend spring drilling.
Red Wheat for Hovis is currently being planted on 400 acres. The variety of wheat is A C Barrie. The tractors rolled all weekend.

Jon filmed the tractor and drill working at Oughton Head. It is an innovative drill, designed by Jon and built on the farm.
The machine uses variable rate treatment maps, and GPS technology to farm the land according to soil types. This is cutting edge 21st Century precision farming.

We are pleased to be members of FACE for Farming and Countryside Education.

Both Jon and Sarah are trained and accredited with CEVAS for educational visits to the farm.

Later this year, when we have upgraded our facilities, the farm should receive the Learning Outside the Classroom Badge too.
