It took the electricians most of yesterday to sort out some of the farm electrics. Two of the three phases of the farm electricity supply were completely out. Jon could not work out why, then it was discovered that mice had eaten through the cables in the grain store.
We remain immensely puzzled by this as there are 500 tonnes of the finest milling wheats grown for Hovis, and Warburtons in the same span of buildings!!
The mice have been forced indoors by the immense cold. I keep seeing them everywhere, in the barns, and in the potting shed with the hen food. So far I have not heard or seen them in the house.
These are the sheep that live nearest to the farmhouse, they had thick frost on their backs and every time they see me they look for hay.
